About Deryn Van der Tang

Deryn Van der Tang I trained as an exploration geological cartographer and my love of creation and nature, is generally the themes I work with, both in photography and in art.

I love to travel both figuratively and metaphorically, exploring the internal view that was formed by the exterior experience, the many layers formed by my perspective on life. We are put in boxes both by ourselves and others, my art seeks to transform both positive and negative into something spiritual and beautiful. I am inspired by nature and the natural processes of life, growth, and death finding meaning in their metaphors and seasons. In my writing, I try to connect people back to God through these metaphors.
